Dear IAGI Colleagues,
The 53rd Annual Scientific Meeting (PIT) IAGI is one of IAGI’s flagship programs as a gathering and sharing events for all Indonesian geoscientists including students and also all our important stakeholders in Indonesia in which they will discuss strategic, science and technical / technological application updates.
As the most prominent earth science professional organization in the country with pillars of expertise including Mitigation, Conservation, Extraction and Engineering, in 2024 we summarize the needs covered by each of these pillars by promoting the theme of “Geological Role in Unlocking Economic Potential, Development and Transforming Energy for The Advancement of 2045 Golden Indonesia Vision”.
National and global strategic issues such as the latest updates on challenges of energy transition, geological factors application in a modern and large settlement like the Indonesian new capital Nusantara (IKN) and aspirations about the urgently required of the Geological Law under the parasol of the spirit of contributing to welcoming and realizing the vision of The Golden Indonesia 2045. They will be discussed at a panel discussion session format that will involve
all participants at the same time and place while the more technical subjects will be held and divided into separate sessions with the aim that discussions and
interactions with speakers and between participants can be deeper and more intensive.
It is our IAGI commitment to place geological aspects as an important pillar to be put forward in mitigating, analyzing, and providing solutions to the latest
concerns and problems around us and further answering and providing the needs of our stakeholders from the Community-Government-University and the Industry.
With more than 11 thousand organizational members spread throughout Indonesia and even around the world, 27 regional administrators, seven (7) commissariat in the country and two (2) abroad, 29 Student Chapters and seven (7) Subsidiary Organizations with its 20 Student Chapters, we believe that the exposure of IAGI activities, especially the PIT has been and will always be able to reach an extraordinary number of participants and coverage.
The great work of this organization is a collective effort where each of its supporting pillars including important stakeholders of the organization unite
hand in hand to make it a success. It can all be promoted by warmly welcoming all of you to participating in each series of the event as participants of the
conference, booth exhibition, workshop and field trips, speakers, and of course sponsorship. And only with the full support of all of you, we will be able to put
IAGI in more honourable position as it should be and become The Indonesia’s Epicentrum of Geoscience. Together, sure WE can!
Dear IAGI members,
Praise and gratitude to God Almighty, because thanks to His grace and guidance, IAGI (Indonesian Geologists Association) can organize the 53rd Annual Scientific Meeting (PIT) in 2024 again in East Kalimantan. The Annual Scientific Meeting is a forum for the exchange of knowledge, ideas and experiences in developing and applying earth sciences. However, the PIT is also a reunion event, a nostalgic media and a connection that all IAGI members always look forward to.
As one side of the sustainable utilization of geology for development, the PIT held in East Kalimantan also has its own meaning where IAGI raises the issue of sustainability as its main theme ‘Fostering Sustainable Prosperity: Geological role in unlocking Economic Potential and Transforming Energy for the Advancement of 2045 Golden Indonesia Vision” is very relevant to the extraction, conservation and mitigation efforts in the field of geological sciences, and is a formidable challenge in the development that is being faced by the Republic of Indonesia.
The relocation of the archipelago’s capital city to East Kalimantan also became a concern at this IAGI PIT. Based on a research study by the Geological Agency of
the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, the determination of the location of the National Capital has been studied for several years so that the position of the National Capital in East Kalimantan is geographically located in the middle of the equator, between south and north, as well as west and east. East Kalimantan geographically includes areas with minimal earthquake disasters, volcanoes and enters the Asian plate which tends to be more stable from tectonic activity.
Of course, this event will be a forum for sharing ideas, knowledge and experience among Indonesian geoscientists. In addition, it will also be a good opportunity for companies and other institutions to present their vision and core technologies to many participants. On behalf of the IAGI PIT Committee, it is our pleasure to welcome you all as delegates, participants, presenters, exhibitors, and sponsors to this event. We are sure this event will bring enlightenment, including new information and geological updates, new business partners, and new opportunities.
Prepare yourself for the best experience joining the main event of The 53rd IAGI Annual Scientific Meeting, Convention, and Exhibition in East Kalimantan.
Don’t miss any chances to meet and interact with our incredible keynote speakers and panelists.
Finally, on behalf of the committee, thank you to all those who have worked hard and helped organize the 53rd IAGI PIT.
